Learning and practicing Aikido requires social and moral values, which are also upheld and promoted by the FNAL.
O-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba also saw Aikido as a path to peace that could help shape the world for the better:
- Act in a way that de-escalates situations and resolves conflicts peacefully
- Become more aware of one’s actions and take responsibility for them
- Make (new) friends and foster a sense of community
Mutual respect for others
forms the universal foundation of FNAL.
Every member is expected to demonstrate friendliness, openness,
tolerance, and honesty.
Any disparaging remarks, insults, or even hate speech
are neither tolerated nor condoned
within the FNAL community.
The FNAL encourages independent thinking and action, both on the tatami and off the mats.
Political beliefs must be left outside the dojo.
Aikido is not just a martial art;
it is a way of life..
All members commit themselves to seriously learning and practicing Aikido, to upholding the values of the FNAL, and to treating one another with respect.
