Learning and practising Aikido requires social and personal values, which are also upheld and promoted by the FNAL.
O-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba also saw Aikido as a path to peace, enabling him to shape the world for the better:
- Acting in a way that defuses tensions and resolving conflicts peacefully
- To raise awareness of one’s actions and take responsibility for them
- Making (new) friends and fostering a sense of community
Mutual respect for one another
forms the universal foundation of FNAL.
Every member is expected to demonstrate friendliness, open-mindedness,
tolerance and honesty.
Any form of disparagement, insults or even hate speech
will
neither be tolerated nor condoned within the FNAL community.
The FNAL encourages independent thinking and action, both on the tatami and off it.
Political views must be left outside the dojo.
Aikido is not just a martial art;
it is a way of life.
All members undertake to study and practise Aikido with dedication, to uphold the values of the FNAL, and to treat one another with respect.
